Background
This section of PDHealth.mil provides information and guidance for both healthcare providers and
servicemembers regarding the health-related aspects of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Weapons of Mass
Destruction (WMD) is a term used to describe a weapon with the capacity to indiscriminately kill or
incapacitate. The phrase broadly encompasses several areas of weapons, including nuclear, biological,
chemical (NBC) and, increasingly, radiological weapons.
