PDH-CPG Training Briefs
PDH-CPG Training Briefs are seven condensed (7-12 minute) training modules produced by the DoD Deployment Health
Clinical Center. These modules were designed to provide clinicians with guidance on implementation of the DoD/VA
Post-Deployment Health Clinical Practice Guideline (PDH-CPG).
Deployment Health Clinical Training Series
Speaking primarily to providers, these clinical training modules provide comprehensive training on the DoD/ VA
Post-Deployment Health Clinical Practice Guideline (PDH-CPG) (6 modules), the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline
for Management of Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS): Chronic Pain and Fatigue (1 module) and the VA/DoD
Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Major Depressive Disorder in Adults (1 module). In addition, there
are five modules on important Health Concerns. This series was produced by the DoD Deployment Health Clinical
Center. The modules range between 17 to 47 minutes long. Use of the information provided in this clinical training
series will promote quality post-deployment healthcare.

RESPECT-Mil Depression and PTSD Web-Based Training
RESPECT-Mil (Re-Engineering Systems for the Primary Care Treatment of Depression and PTSD in the Military) is an innovative program to provide systematic evidenced-based care toservice members with symptoms of depression and PTSD in the primary care setting. This training is a two hour block entitled “Assessment and Management of Depression and PTSD in the Primary Care Setting.” It consists of a one-hour, interactive, computer-based training module on depression and the same type of module on PTSD. In accordance with MEDCOM OPORD 09-05, Implementation of Behavioral Health Training into Primary Care, 6 Nov 08, all Army primary care providers (PCPs), including uniformed, Department of the Army Civilian (DAC) and contract personnel are required to take this training.The only PCPs exempt from this training are civilian providers (GS, NSPS, and contract) who provide care exclusively to pediatric patients in Army MTFs.
Deployment Health Guest Lecturer Program
The DoD Deployment Health Clinical Center is collaborating
with various departments at Walter Reed Army Medical Center to sponsor the
Deployment Health Guest Lecturer Series. The goal of the lecture series is to
present clinical education on current and emerging deployment health issues and
to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Videotapes of some of the
presentations have been posted at this site.
