Purpose of Deployment Healthcare Track (DHCT)
The 2011 Deployment Healthcare Track's focus is on Service member-centered care for returning combat warriors and their families. The target audience is healthcare providers who are the first to assess and treat Service members: primary care and family practice providers, nurses, behavioral health, and physician assistants, as well as occupational and environmental medicine, clinical epidemiologists and health service researchers. Special areas of interest include:
- Improving, measuring and evaluating war-related care
- Fostering trust between Service members and healthcare providers (clinical risk communication)
- Developing best practices for war-related diseases: traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), depression, grief, trauma, PTSD
- Improving continuity of care with coordinated aftercare between the DoD, the VA and other federal/private agencies
- nitiating new information systems and clinical automation for war-related care

Benefits of Attending DHCT and FHP Conference
The DoD Deployment Health Clinical Center is committed to improving care for Service members and their families. The need to do this has increased with the complexities of providing care during combat. The Armed Forces Public Health Conference will be the premiere and largest Preventive Medicine and Public Health conference in the military. The Deployment Healthcare Track focuses specifically on deployment health conditions and concerns.. You have the opportunity to network with professionals in your own and other disciplines. We sponsor an annual social event where presenters and attendees can get together for an evening of fun to renew relationships with old friends and make new ones.
