Etiologic agents

  • Sandfly Fever Viruses of the Bunyaviridae family.

Clinical Features

Transmission

  • Bite from female sandflies, Phlebotomus papatasi, Phlebotomus perniciosus, Phlebotomus perfiliewi.

Diagnosis
Available at special laboratories:

  • Serological detection of IgM and IgG antibodies using ELISA, PCR, viral isolation, hemagglutiniation, neutralization, and immunofluorescence tests.
